Dear reader,
Just so you know, I don't have a comment checker thing. You know, where you have to put the funny two words in after you leave a comment. I don't know about you but I can hardly make out what the words says half the time. Then sometimes I don't think it has accepted it so I send you about 5 of the same comment. They do my head in.
This, unfortunately means I get quite a lot of Anonymous comments. I ones get must be computer generated as they are absolute, (excuse the language) SHITE!
It's as if some fool has just sent a load of random words. They seem to love my chick pea curry post too. They always go like this, "Wow, you exactly must embrace the enormous rise and your blog is awesome, please check out my website on penile enlargement"
Are they computer generated? They must be.
That's my rant of the day. I do love a rant sometimes don't you?
I had a spend day today but it wasn't too bad, (or so I thought) £2.80 on bread and milk. We use a lot of milk as big man has porridge and some protein shake things. I can't cope with the breadmaker. It takes ages and if I'm lucky I get a small block that could double as a doorstop. So, I still buy bread at about £1.30 a loaf.
Sadly, I had a dentist appointment and he charged me £160 for 4 fillings. I have to go private as no NHS patients there. Always something every month, I'm gutted.
We just can't afford these nasty surprises every month and just don't seem to be able to save up to cover them over the year. We are just about coping on what we get in each month. I have worked out that after all the household bills we have £406 left to pay for food and fuel for 2 cars doing 34 miles and 40 miles each per day. It just doesn't add up. I'm not sure how we will cope, it's depressing.

Hi
ReplyDeleteI don't have it set on my blog, for the same reason, I can't bloody read to code words, sorry to hear you are struggling, we will be too by next moth.
That made me laugh so much! I keep getting emails asking if I want Canadian Viagra? Why it has to be Canadian I don't know!! : )
ReplyDeleteOh no! Just read on, I'm sorry : (
ReplyDeleteThe good thing is you're in control of your money & not just spending without a care. Use the credit card a little, it's there for necessities not treats and petrol is a necessity for work : {
You sound like things are getting you down a bit at the moment. Don't you just hate it when you are doing everything you possibly can to earn a living and then life has this horrible habit of kicking you when you are most down. Fuel for your cars is very important as without it you cannot get to work, so unfortunately this has to be budgeted for before any food is bought. When you work such long hours the last thing you want to do is start cooking from scratch when you get home. Maybe this weekend do a menu plan for the month based on bulk cooking and what you already have in store, thats what I did this month( its on a separate page on my blog) It seems to be working really well.
ReplyDeleteThis week we did fall back into the big supermarket and it was fatal, I spent more than I intended and bought stuff not needed and certainly not on the list. We were pennies under budget so this week the belt is tightened another notch lol At least I know we have enough basic meals to last into June. I really wish I lived closer so I could offer you some practical help. Hang on in there and just do your very best and it will work out ok.
Love Karen xx
I buy bread too. Any possibility of car pooling with co-workers? We pay as we go for dental as well but have been very lucky up till now-just waiting for a shoe to drop though.
ReplyDeleteKeep your chin up, it will come right. I have the same problem with anonymous. Whoever it is their spelling is appalling! X
ReplyDeleteAck, I feel your pain. We've been in that position where you think maybe things are going to flatten out then along comes another expense that you just can't avoid. It's the pits but it won't last forever.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a bread maker either. Dan can make it and does occasionally but I don't think it works out for us cost wise.
Just wanted to say hello as I read but don't comment.
ReplyDeleteI have £500 a month after bills for me, husband and 2 very hungry 9 year old twin girls.
It is tight to say the least! But you just have to keep doing what you are doing, because without cooking from scratch etc, just think how much it would cost.
I know this might not be possible, but could your other half go without his protein shakes? I am sure that must be costly. Also, have you got anything you could ebay? On really tight months, I ebay anything that isn't nailed down!!
Donnax
Sorry to hear things are a bit tight at the moment. Hope things look up next month.x
ReplyDeleteYes it seems that life has a way of knocking you back when you are trying to get sorted. But as others have said, it is really good that you ARE actually in far more control than you think. You have cleared the overdraft and stopped smoking, you are starting to plan for meals and budget for food. These things have all happened recently and you are now very much in control.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Karen about the food planning - shopping is always a challenge - I had done really well with the budgetting this month, only buying what we needed, then went shopping on Monday and spend almost all the money I have left until the end of May. Much of the food was not on my shopping list, but will be very useful and should last us for a good few days. Wouldn't it be great if we all lived closer together, I would love to meet up sometimes! Just remember, Keep Calm and Carry On (doing what you are doing).
Just catching up on posts as I've not been around for the past couple of weeks and I feel your pain. :/ Living within a tight budget can be rubbish sometimes. We had 4 unexpected payments in May and next month it's the car service, MOT and car tax. Determined not to get into anymore debt so by August I can feel smug!
