Dear reader,
Two months of not paying our council tax direct debit. Result!
Was pondering what to do with ours and I thought I would ask my blogging pals as they always have good, practical ideas.
So, dear friends, what to do with the money?
Our 2 months will be used for visiting my youngest son down in Plymouth, I cant wait to see him. He split with his wife in September and we havent seen him since, we speak on the phone but its not the same, we still like to hug each other :-) i usually get a good deal on 4 nights in a Travel Lodge so its like a mini holuday too :-) xx
ReplyDeleteI invested part of this month's money in a load of logs towards keeping us warm next winter!
ReplyDeleteNew tyres for car. Boring but necessary :)
ReplyDeleteWe're very boring, it just goes into savings.
ReplyDeleteI think I just get to pay mine... but if I don't it will be spanked against the debt.
ReplyDeleteI'm leaving it as it is and will enjoy the luxury of having a little money over and above for once. I will probably go on line to view it and gloat !
ReplyDeleteJust spent £300 on car repair, so What money savings.
ReplyDeletePay it off another bill, maybe an extra mortgage payment. Use it to replace something essential that is on its last legs, just don't fritter it away.
ReplyDeleteNo council tax here, just very high rates and two lots at that! Waikato rates, covering the usual stuff although being rural all we get is rubbish collection! The other one is Environment Waikato, self explanatory really, helps to keep waterways clean (big joke that it what with the run off from the farms!) So basically we're paying for water although we collect all our own off the rooves lol ;-D Oh and they would NEVER give us any money back. Although all the parks and gardens are free entry so there is something to enjoy from it x
ReplyDeleteI am from Canada and not sure what these funds are that you are all getting. It sounds like some cash back from city or town council on property taxes. Or perhaps it is for utilities discount of some kind. Whatever the case, I'm happy for you all. Unfortunately my taxes are going up yet again.
ReplyDeleteNothing special, it just stays in my bank account, which is also the treats pot.
ReplyDeletepay off any debt you have, otherwise treat yourself to something.
ReplyDeleteGill in Canada
Yes I would say put it in the treats pot. When my husband was a live we had a little tin which we called the Frivolity Box and put odds and ends of change in there - it all adds up!
