Giveaway-Shirley Goode book

Dear reader,

As promised yesterday a giveaway to say thank you for your lovely comments and for reading my blog.

I read about this book on Sarinas Allsorts and ordered The Shirley Goode Kitchen.

Shirley has some great ideas on frugal cooking and the recipes in her book embrace money saving.shirleygoode@bolgspot.com and this is her blog.

I have read it now and would love to pass it on to one of my readers. So, please, leave a comment  and I will enter all names into a draw on Sunday and will contact the winner.

Have had a good talk to myself and am pleased to report 22 hours, 36 minutes and 14 secs without a cigarette. Feel a bit tense but have just watched Taken 2 with Liam Neeson which was excellent.

Cooked organic lamb steaks for dinner with loads or roast potatoes, mash, greens and veg.
Will have the left over veg and mash tomorrow with homemade faggots.

  2. Well done for attempting to quit. You have started the journey even though it's only a day keep it up. I watched Taken 2 but was not impressed. I absolutely loved the first one and was greatly disappointed with the second. Don't enter me in the giveway am on a decluttering mission. Hope it goes to someone who will love it.

Day 2 aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh is how I feel but doing ok.

I loved Taken the best too. It's never the same with second goes is it?

Won't enter you as requested. I know, it's so easy to clutter up the place. Books and shoes is my downfall!

      Thanks for reading and commenting.

    1. Hi,
Heavy snow here, not sure if its settling. Airports seem ok at the moment though.
Day 2 so far. Feels like forever, can't believe those little sticks can cause so much grief. How is Costa Rica?
Maybe I should put all the saved money in a pot for somewhere exotic too.

  4. Well done keep going my partner is on day 39. He's liking lots of sugar free mints and M&S Butterscotch sweets. Are you putting your ciggie money in a pot so you can see it mount up? Not sure how many aday you used to smoke but it soon adds up to quite a sum. Take care, you'll be so pleased with yourself when you've licked it !

  5. I will have to put the money aside so I can see it.
Tell him to be careful with the sf mints-can err, make you "go" apparently!

I really really want to stop but it's like a constant battle. Worse thing I did was to start smoking.
    Thanks for your support.
Entered you for the book too.

  6. I'm sure the no-smoking will go well. If you find yourself needing a cigarette, just wait 5 minutes - not long - and then review. Just do it 5 minutes at a time!
Keep us informed of your progress, and I am sure that putting the money aside so you can see how much you are saving will help
