Dear reader,
I'm so sorry I haven't been able to blog. I had hoped to do our weigh in despite it being Christmas and also my giveaway. I have been without the Internet since the 24th.
I may have told you that big man and I went to my parents on Christmas Eve. They live in Kent and although they didn't have flooding where they live they did have terrible weather on the 23rd.
The two elderly neighbours opposite planted fir trees some 50 years ago which are now huge and one of the branches of one broke and fell across the phone lines. It has completely snapped and several houses in the road have no phone lines and hence no Internet. BT hope to fix it next week. I wonder if they charge the tree owner?
We have just got home after a long drive, roads were bad especially the M25 and took us 3 hours but we had good discussions on our forthcoming frugal year.
We had a great time there with lots of dog walks in the countryside and enevitable, lots of eating.
I will recommence the weigh in on Wednesday but for today I will announce the giveaway winner for the Moneyless Man book is........
.*****Everyday Life on a shoestring.******
Please send me your address, I won't publish it.
So many people wanted to read this book, I wish I had more copies. If I ever see it cheap somewhere I will buy it and pass it on. It is frugal living hardcore.
Am a bit jaded tonight so will be back tomorrow. (I'm also a bit scared of getting on the scales but I promise I will be truthful) I've had a wonderful time with my family and big man so if I've gained, so be it. I will get it off soon.
I hope your Christmas was wonderful and you all had a great time.
Speak tomorrow.

Hi I've come across after reading about your Wednesday Weigh in on Chelmarsh Chunterings. Please may I join in? I desperately need to loose weight and having all these people as diet buddies may just help. I won't be giving my weight though as it's top secret, even hubby doesn't know! I shall just say what I've lost if that's ok.. I shall do my first weigh in on Wednesday to give me my base start.. oh dear that'll be depressing!
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower of your blog :o)
Dear Julie, ha ha, I did laugh at your top secret. I'm much the same. I often try to hold onto something when on the scales so he can't see the real weight! I can drop a stone by gripping th kitchen side. Of course you can join us, that's will be wonderful. I thought it would be a good motivator if we did it together and hopefully we can help each other with ideas and recipes. When you do your weigh in just think, that will be the last time you will be that weight ever again!
ReplyDeletewe all fall off the wagon - I have! but, we just dust ourselves down and get back on it again xxx
ReplyDeleteI just watched your Christmas speech. You are so right with sticking to it. I will be using that as my moto next year. Stick it to my bank who I owe money to as well! Happy new year Jane. X
DeleteI think most of us have overeaten at Christmas, i am dreading trying to get back into my work trousers as they were a bit tight anyway (I am only there for another 2 weeks so don't want to buy another pair) Luckily I am not back at work in Hampshire until the 6th so hopefully will get rid of some of the excess by then. Take care and keep focussing. p.s. am glad to know that everyone was ok, we had terrible weather in Hampshire too, I have never known so much bad weather. We were delayed on our journey north at the weekend which was good as we managed to miss the second installment in Blackpool on Friday. I hope it settles down now
ReplyDeleteDon't worry everyone can fall off the wagon over Christmas, stick at it everyday is a new day.
ReplyDeleteI am lucky I have lost weight last week and this week but I really watched what I had eaten and it was hard work athough this included 2 glasses champagne:-)
How exciting to win the book! Can't wait to read it!
