Weigh in Wednesday week one.

Dear reader,

Here is the list of Weigh in Wednesday challengers.  I have counted in 25 of us and have included a couple of you who will start in the New Year or after Christmas and some who already weigh in elsewhere.
It's really motivated me to know there are 25 other people out there doing this with me. I've had some great comments since I invited you all to join me and its nice to know I am not alone in wanting to lose weight and hopefully get a little fitter while doing so.

Anyway, here is the list and here is my weight..........I weighed myself last Friday when the scaled were brought back to life.
I was 14 stones and 4.4 pounds and this morning I am 14 stones and 1.2 pounds. For readers not in the UK, a stone is 14 pounds or 6.350 KG.

Come on then everyone. Have you weighed yourself today and made a note? Are you brave enough to share? I will add a progress bar I think as I love them and they are an instant motivator.

I shall do the giveaway this evening at 2000 hours so everyone has had a chance to comment and weigh.  I have two more giveaways lined up and will publish the new one tonight as well.

I am interested to hear of any festive recipes that you use that are weight loss friendly.
Can you do one little thing between now and Christmas Day to lose weight? Perhaps reduce the sugar you use by half a teaspoon, go for a daily walk maybe to see Christmas decorations, only use butter or spread on one half of the sandwich (bet you wouldn't notice) challenge yourself to eat one more portion of vegetables a day even if its carrot sticks or a tomato in a sarnie. I don't mean to preach as you already know all this I'm just trying to think of small steps that we can all try and maybe you can think of some for me too?
My running has made a huge difference to how I feel about myself. Yes, my calves are agony but I can now run 3 and a half minutes without stopping instead of the 1 minute when I started. I feel cleaner and fitter already and Big Man says my bum is firmer (but I reckon he's just saying that to have a touch)

Much love. X

  1. Sorry I've not been around for a few days, it's been stressful time due to one thing and another and threw me off course. I still haven't bought a battery for the scales but I'll get one today.
Thanks for all your encouragement, tips and advice.

    1. Hi Jan,

I worried about you as I thought you thought you had to be a blogger. It's a busy time of year and easy to get pulled all over the place. So glad to hear from you. Hope you can enjoy some relaxation soon. X

  3. Morning! Well done on losing 3lbs this week. I am going to start again on Jan 2nd but I did get on the scales and was happy to find I had maintained my 3 stone loss but I'm not brave enough to reveal my weight, state secret! I do expect to put on over Christmas but that's OK because I know if I am determined that I can lose it again. I am still avoiding butter/marg and don't miss it now and i always use frylight. I still do need to exercise more though. I want to wish everyone good luck in their weight loss journey and I will join you all soon.

  5. Hello ! Well, I have weighed myself this morning and it came up to °+¨.*kg.... and believe me, that's a whole lotta stones. It's my first dieting day (of my life) so I have no progress to report but I have started to walk more as I am worried that my muscular mass (that's what we call it in French) is melting away. I have also tried to replace my small sugar lump in my tea with Stevia but I don't like the taste; I might try to give up sugar altogether.

    1. Walking is really good for you. I hate my tea without sweetener so I know how hard it is. X

  6. Well done on your weight loss, you've made a good start. I haven't really started yet so have nothing to report but I have posted my plans on my own blog: http://in-my-playroom.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/weigh-in-wednesday-1.html

Is there any chance of you adding a linky to make it easier for us to look in at the other blogs to offer encouragement, please?

  7. Starting at 10 St. 8.6lbs. Having a bad week of sniffles, poor sleep and appetite all over the shop. Have eaten cake but not fruit... think this might be why I'm not getting better!

    I'm over at www.frugalwench.blogspot.com

    1. Hi Donna,
Hope you are feeling better soon. I thought it was just me that found that cake, biscuits and sweets (all currently freely available at work) seem to be preferable to fruit!! I was disgusted with myself when I realised I had not eaten one piece in two days!! Oh well, it can only get better!! Take care.

  8. Dear Froogs

I weighed last Thursday and was 14 stone 2. Well done on your weight loss!!! What a girl. I've had a few good days and a few bad ones. I gave up sugar and weight for a couple of days but went back on the wheat as was so skint had to make homemade soda bread to keep costs down. And today I've had two brioche from freezer and a muffin. On the plus side I did an exercise DVD yesterday and that's my one constant that I will try and stick to until nxt Wednesday. Will weigh when I can find a free scales. I don't own one. We can do this weight loss thing. Rosie X

  9. I weighed myself the day I signed up and the scales read 16st 1½lbs,however I'm not weighing myself again until after Xmas when I plan to join a slimming class and get a professional weigh in. My clothes at present are veering into the size 24 range.......weight is less important than reaching a size 16 at the moment. After that, I'll think again. At my age and with Thyroid issues I am prepared for the long haul, but determined to make it!

  10. Well done on your loss - a great start! I don't have a blog, but I am looking forward to appearing as a 'loser' on yours.
    I was 14st 01lb last week :(
but today I was . . ta da . . 13st 13lbs!!!! Very happy about that as I wasn't expecting to lose anything. Bread is my downfall, I adore bread and 2 days ago I made a large loaf and have been eating far too much of it ever since. I even had 2 rounds of bread and butter last night before bedtime. Noooooo willpower.
Of course, next Wednesday will be Christmas day - and I shall be away, in a Cornish cottage with my son, daughter-in-law and grandson. I doubt if there will be any scales in the cottage, so I shall have to miss my weigh-in. But I'm hoping that any excess of food will be counteracted by the extra beach walks. Well, I can always hope, can't I?
Good luck to everyone else. Onwards and downwards, I say!

  13. Hallo everyone, and well done to you all. I actually lost 4 lbs but (as I wrongly posted my comment on another post) I have been sick as a dog so can't really say it was down to sheer effort. Also, I don't know if anyone else finds this, but I am VERY hormonal and can crank up and down the scales by 3 lbs quite easily in as many days. Still, a loss is a loss, is a loss, so I intend to keep going. Good luck everyone. Anna

  15. I weighed in this morning at ?St - 9 3/4lbs (I'll only own up to the pounds for the time being) - can't promise to stick to cutting back till the new year but will at least be as 'mindfull' of what I'm eating. At least I'm not at work so there shouldn't be any eating because I feel stressed out - well done on the 3 lbs weight loss xx
